Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were lower on Thursday afternoon.
Favorable growing conditions outweighed good weekly export sales figures
to push corn and soybean prices lower. Corn totaled 833,700 metric
tonnes for both old and new crop. The soybeans totaled 1.02 million
metric tonnes for both old and new crop. Currently old crop soybean
sales are 103.9% of the USDA's export forecast. In the cash markets,
the cash soybean basis has shown weakness on Thursday afternoon. In
many cases basis fell 5 to 20 cents at the gulf points and the Illiois
River terminals.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 5 to 7 cents lower at 3.14-3.27. Soybean bids were down 25 to
35 cents at 11.37-11.54.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
5 to 8 cents lower at 3.13-3.25. Soybean bids were down 25 to 41 cents at
11.26-11.41.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 4 to 8 cents
lower at 3.21-3.35. Soybean bids were mostly 23 to 25 cents lower at
11.14-11.59. Wheat bids were mostly 8 to 11 cents lower at 2.89-3.06.
Milo bids were 4 to 6 cents lower at 2.66-2.75.

after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
