GX_GR113 Springfield, IL Wed Aug 12, 2009 USDA-IL Dept of Ag Market News Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Illinois country grain prices were mostly higher on Wednesday afternoon. In today's USDA August Production report, the USDA increased the average yield for US corn production to 159.5 bushels per acre, up from the 153.4 average in July. Total corn production was forecasted at 12.76 billion bushels. The Illinois corn yield was expected to average 175 bpa, four bushels higher than one year ago. The US soybean yield was expected to average 41.7 bpa, down from last month's 42.6 bpa. The US soybean production was expected to total 3.199 billion bushels, down from the 3.26 billion estimate in July. The Illinois average yield was expected to total 44 bpa, down from the 2008 average of 47 bpa. In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 4 to 5 cents higher at 3.21-3.33. Soybean bids were 2 to 3 cents higher at 11.71-11.87. In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 5 to 8 cents higher at 3.21-3.30. Soybean bids were up 6 cents at 11.49-11.62. In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 1 to 5 cents higher at 3.25-3.41. Soybean bids were mostly 3 to 6 cents higher at 11.39-11.69. Wheat bids were unchanged to 5 cents higher at 2.97-3.16. Milo bids were 2 to 4 cents higher at 2.70-2.81.
