Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon, with
soybeans sharply higher. Technical trading, good export interest, and
another sale of US soybeans to China fueled today's rally. In the
cash markets, trading activity was moderate to active, with both cash
corn and soybeans being sold by farmers. The cash corn basis firmed
this afternoon. Gulf basis improved 6 to 7 cents per bushel, with many
Illinois River terminals up 4 to 8 cents.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 6 to 7 cents higher at 3.17-3.28. Soybean bids were 39 to 47
cents higher at 11.73-11.84.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
1 to 2 cents higher at 3.13-3.25. Soybean bids were up 28 to 38 cents
at 11.43-11.56.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 3 to 4 cents
higher at 3.20-3.37. Soybean bids were 24 to 25 cents lower at 11.24-11.73.
Wheat bids were 9 cents lower at 2.97-3.15. Milo bids were 3 cents higher
at 2.67-2.77.

Commercial grain prices paid farmers by Interior Illinois Country Elevators
after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
