Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were sharply higher on Monday afternoon.
Speculative and technical trading helped to rally grain futures higher.
Weakness in the US dollar added strength to corn and soybean values.
In the cash market, trading was moderate. Some processors dropped their
cash soybean basis 10 cents and many Illinois River terminals fell 4
to 6 cents.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 14 to 16 cents higher at 3.40-3.50. Soybean bids were 34 to 39
cents higher at 11.44-11.61.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
15 to 19 cents higher at 3.46-3.57. Soybean bids were 38 to 48 cents
higher at 11.05-11.38.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 15 to 20
cents higher at 3.40-3.75. Soybean bids were 48 to 51 cents higher at
11.31-11.57. Wheat bids were mostly 21 cents higher at 3.91-4.02.
Milo bids were 15 to 21 cents higher at 2.99-2.91.

Commercial grain prices paid farmers by Interior Illinois Country Elevators
after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
