JO_GR110 Portland, OR Mon Aug 03, 2009 USDA Market News Portland Daily Grain Report Bids as of 11:30 a.m.; Subject to change **Correction** Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during August by rail or barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. Bids for 11.5 percent protein Hard red winter wheat were split for first and last half August delivery. All other wheat and barley bids are for full August delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery. September wheat futures closed 19-1/4 to 21 cents per bushel higher compared to Fridays closes. Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent protein, for August Portland delivery trended steady to five cents per bushel higher than Fridays noon bids. Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August delivery were 15 to 25 cents per bushel higher than Fridays noon bids. Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for August delivery trended 17 to 19 cents per bushel higher than Fridays noon bids, in lining up with the higher Minneapolis September wheat futures. Bids for US 2 Barley for August delivery were not available as exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn Portland single rail were 13-3/4 to 21-1/4 cents per cwt higher. Corn bids for truck delivered to the Yakima Valley were 33-3/4 cents per cwt higher. Higher Chicago September corn futures supported bids, while some traders lowered their basis, partially offsetting the advances.
