Bids as of 9:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during August by rail or
barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as
specified.  All other wheat and barley bids are for full August delivery.
Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

   September wheat futures in midday trading trended higher, from 14 to 18-3/4
cents per bushel compared to Fridays closes.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent
protein, for August Portland delivery were not fully established in early
trading but were indicated as mixed, from 10 cents per bushel lower to five
cents per bushel higher compared with Fridays noon bids.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August
delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated
as 19 cents per bushel higher in lining up with higher Kansas City
September wheat futures.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for August
delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated
as 12 to 14 cents per bushel higher in a limited test.

   Bids for US 2 Barley for August delivery were not available.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn Portland single rail were 8-3/4 to 16-3/4 cents
per cwt higher than Fridays noon bids.  Corn bids for truck delivered to the
Yakima Valley were 28-3/4 cents per cwt higher.  Higher Chicago September corn
