--- **January delivery Illinois grains-Prices ended lower at the Board of Trade, with soybeans sharply lower. Favorable weather for good growing conditions helped to drag grain prices down. Technical trading and speculative selling pressured futures prices further. Many traders late in the week tried to even positions ahead of USDAs Supply and Demand and Wheat Production reports on Friday. Higher than expected weekly export sales figures were a supportive factor as export sales for soybeans totaled 1.22 million metric tons. In the USDAs Supply and Demand report, the corn carryout for the 2009-2010 crop year was estimated at 1.770 billion bushels, compared to 1.600 billion in the June report. The soybean carryout was unchanged at 110 million, with the wheat carryout slightly lower at 667 million bushels. The estimate for the US Winter Wheat crop was 1.52 billion bushels for the 2009-2010 crop year. In the cash grain markets, trading activity was slow with soybean futures falling lower. Weak basis pushed cash soybean bids even lower, although the cash corn basis was firm for the week.
