1052 EDT [Dow Jones] - CBOT corn futures are higher in early trading. Traders and analysts said they expected a recovery after Tuesday's sell-offs as the market was oversold. Some short-covering could also be in effect as "the market has been pressured down for quite a while," says Sterling Smith, market analyst at Country Hedging. "We may be seeing the start of a short-covering bounce." He added that corn's low price was likely attracting some end user buying. Traders and analysts said the market is already looking towards Friday's USDA supply and demand report, anticipating larger numbers. "People who are short will likely square up positions before that report," Smith said. July corn is up 9 cents at $3.44 1/2 a bushel and Dec corn is up 2 3/4 cents at $3.38 1/2.
