The surge in soybean meal the last couple of weeks have led to higher prices on other ingredients as buyers scramble for cheaper alternative feeds. Hominy feed and distiller dried grains found support from the higher corn market. Alfalfa products were unchanged as crop supplies are plentiful. SOYBEAN MEAL: 48 percent rail was 18.30-20.30 higher from 417.80-431.80 per ton. 48 percent truck was 20.30 higher from 427.80-435.80 per ton. CORN BY-PRODUCTS: Gluten Feed 21 percent, FOB Midwest barge was unchanged from 60.00-75.00 per ton; rail was unchanged to 2.00 higher 70.00-92.00 per ton; truck was unchanged to 2.00 higher from 80.00-95.00 per ton; weighted average was .76 cents higher at 78.93 per ton. Weighted average price based on the movement volume by transportation method. 60 percent Gluten Meal, FOB Midwest was steady from 585.00-675.00, mostly 630.00-660.00 per ton. Hominy Feed, Central Illinois Point rail was unchanged to 3.00 lower from 113.00-115.00 per ton; trucks were unchanged to .50 cents higher from 120.00-123.50 per ton. Crude Corn Oil was unchanged at 39.50-40.50 cents per pound. MILLFEEDS: Chicago was 4.50 higher to 5.00 lower from 82.50-85.00 per ton; Buffalo was unchanged to 5.00 higher from 75.00-90.00 per ton.
