Minnesota Feedstuffs - Prices for the week ending Tuesday, May 05, 2009

    Feed ingredient prices were higher once again this past week.  Supplies of
most ingredients were in extremely tight supply.

Oilseeds:
  The May Soybean Meal May futures closed 46.60 higher at 358.50; July closed
41.00 higher at 345.00. The May Soybean Oil futures closed 279 points higher at

37.69 cents per pound; July closed 280 points higher at 37.99 cents per pound.

The high protein Soybean Meal in Minnesota was 44.60 to 46.60 higher from
350.50-355.50; the basis was steady to 2.00 lower from 8.00-3.00 under the May
futures. Linseed Meal, 34 pct protein was steady to 25.00 higher from 215.00-
275.00 in the North Dakota-Minnesota area. Sunflower Meal, 13 pct fiber, 34 pct

protein was steady to 5.00 higher from 120.00-140.00 in the North Dakota-
Minnesota area. Soybean Oil was 259 to 300 points higher from 35.69-35.99 cents

per pound; the basis ranged 200 points under the May futures to 200 points unde
r
the July futures.

Animal Protein:
   Meat and Bone Meal, 50 pct protein was steady to 10.00 higher at 375.00 for
ruminant; pork was 440.00.  Yellow Grease was steady from 23.50-24.50 cents per

pound. Choice White Grease was 50 to 200 points lower from 25.50-27.50 cents pe
r
pound. Feather Meal was steady from 550.00-575.00.

Millfeeds:
   Wheat Middlings were 2.00 to 5.00 lower from 78.00-90.00. The Sacked Bran
was
steady at 235.00.

Others:
   Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, 17 pct protein was steady at 210.00.
