Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat and barley bids are for full May delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery. July wheat futures closed 1-3/4 to 9-1/2 cents per bushel higher compared to Mondays closes. Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein, for May delivery trended four to 10 cents per bushel higher compared to Monday noon bids. Bids for maximum 10.5 percent protein soft white wheat for May Portland delivery trended four to five cents per bushel higher. Bids were supported by higher Chicago July wheat futures and poor crop conditions in parts of Eastern Oregon, on dry land wheat farms. Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for May delivery trended steady to two cents per bushel higher than Mondays noon bids. Higher Kansas City July wheat futures were supportive to bids. Some exporters lowered their basis to offset the higher futures. Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for May delivery advanced by four to nine cents per bushel in response to the higher Minneapolis July wheat futures, although some exporters lowered their basis, which tempered advances. Bids for US 2 barley for May delivery were not fully established as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland via single rail cars trended steady to 2-1/2 cents per cwt lower than Mondays noon bids. Lower Chicago July corn futures and a lower basis bid by some corn traders pressured bids. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley were 1-1/4 cents lower due to the lower Chicago July corn futures.
