GX_GR113 Springfield, IL Mon Mar 23, 2009 USDA-IL Dept of Ag Market News Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Monday afternoon, with soybeans mostly higher and corn and wheat lower. In the early trading at the Board of Trade, fund buying helped to rally grain prices, then buying turned to selling as many traders took profits. Cash grain trading was slow to moderate as some producers made additional sales of soybeans. Cash basis for soybeans did weaken this afternoon, with processors down 3 to 5 cents and gulf basis falling 2 to 4 cents per bushel. In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 1 cent lower at 3.64-3.70. Soybean bids were mixed at 9.34-9.45. In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 1 to 3 cents lower at 3.66-3.78. Soybean bids were 2 to 4 cents higher at 9.37-9.46. In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 1 to 3 cents lower at 3.67-3.86. Soybean bids were mixed at 9.41-9.51. Wheat bids were 1 cent lower at 4.41-4.69. Milo bids were mostly steady to 2 cents lower at 3.00-3.36.
