Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Wednesday afternoon, with
soybeans higher, corn lower and wheat sharply lower. Fund and technical
selling at the Board of Trade pushed wheat prices lower today. Basis was
also weak for wheat, but steady to 2 cents higher for cash corn and
soybeans at many river terminals.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 4 to 5 cents lower at 3.56-3.65. Soybean bids were 1 to 2 cents
higher at 8.99-9.14.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
1 to 3 cents lower at 3.62-3.72. Soybean bids were mostly 2 cents higher
at 9.00-9.12.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 1 to 3 cents
lower at 3.62-3.79. Soybean bids were 2 cents higher at 9.03-9.17. Wheat
bids were 23 to 28 cents lower at 4.22-4.50. Milo bids were steady to 3
cents lower at 2.98-3.33.

Commercial grain prices paid farmers by Interior Illinois Country Elevators
after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
