FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures edged up on Friday as traders closed short positions before the

weekend, but gains were capped by a strengthening ringgit.

* Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures ended steady on Friday but fell 6 percent for the week as

drought-relieving rains arrived in the southern U.S. Plains crop belt.

* Crude futures fell from 2015 peaks in choppy trading on Friday, but Brent's 9.6 percent weekly

gain was its biggest in more than five years as Middle East turmoil and signs of lower U.S.

production lifted prices.

MARKET NEWS

* Global equity markets fell on Friday on reports about a crackdown on margin lending in China,

while the dollar retreated on views that stronger U.S. consumer prices were not enough to offset

recent weak data that could slow a Federal Reserve interest rate hike.
