Malaysia’s palm oil stocks rose to a 20-month high at the end of November, even as production fell 7.5% from a month earlier, as exports declined in the same period, official data showed.
According to statistics from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, end-November palm oil stocks rose 5.2% from a month earlier to 2.28 million metric tons, while November palm oil exports fell 6.1% in the same period. Crude palm oil production fell in November due to seasonal factors.
Palm oil exports have been under pressure due to expectations for an abundant soybean crop this year, which have made soybean oil prices attractive.
