Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were lower on Thursday afternoon. Fund
selling helped to push grain values lower. Weekly export sales were good
again this week for both corn and soybeans. Soybean sales totaled 1.048
million tonnes, with corn sales at 938,900 tonnes. A sharp drop in the
cash soybean basis was the news in the cash markets. At the gulf basis
dropped 30 to 70 cents, with some soybean processors falling 60 to 90 cents.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids steady to 2 cents lower at 3.00-3.09. Soybean bids were sharply lower
at 10.41-10.66.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
steady to 3 cents lower at 2.97-3.07. Soybean bids were sharply lower at
10.36-10.57.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were down 2 to 6 cents
at 2.91-3.12. Soybean bids were sharply lower at 9.36-9.97. Wheat bids were
mostly 7 to 11 cents lower at 2.49-2.88. Milo bids were mostly 1 to 2 cents
lower at 2.26-2.62.

Commercial grain prices paid farmers by Interior Illinois Country Elevators
after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
