JO_GR110 Portland, OR Thu Aug 27, 2009 USDA Market News Portland Daily Grain Report Bids as of 11:30 a.m.; Subject to change Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during September by rail or barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. Bids for 11.5 percent protein hard red winter wheat were split for September 1-10, September 11-20 and September 21-30. All other wheat and barley bids are for full September delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery. December wheat futures closed 2-1/4 to 4-1/2 cents per bushel lower compared to Wednesdays closes. Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent protein, for first half September Portland delivery, held steady, while bids for last half September delivery trended mixed, from five cents lower to 10 cents per bushel higher compared to Wednesdays noon bids for September delivery. Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat were for September delivery and had no recent price comparison as yesterdays noon bids were for August delivery. Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring were for September delivery and had no recent price comparison as yesterdays noon bids were for August delivery. Bids for US 2 Barley for September delivery were not available as exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn were 3-3/4 to five cents per cwt higher compared to Wednesdays noon bids. Higher Chicago September and December corn futures were supportive to bids.
