GX_GR113 Springfield, IL Wed Aug 26, 2009 USDA-IL Dept of Ag Market News Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture. Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Wednesday afternoon. Wheat prices ended higher supported by an Egyption purchase of US Soft Red Winter Wheat. Good growing conditions continue to weigh on corn and soybean values. In the cash markets, trading activity continues to be slow. The cash corn basis ended mostly 2 to 4 cents lower at many Illinois River terminals. The cash soybean basis was mostly steady at points south of Peoria along the Illinois River, but mostly 9 cents higher to the north. In many cases, the processor basis for soybeans ended 20 cents higher. In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 1 to 5 cents lower at 3.07-3.19. Soybean bids were mixed at 10.94-11.26. In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were mostly 1 to 4 cents lower at 3.08-3.20. Soybean bids were up 12 to 18 cents at 10.86-11.26. In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 1 to 4 cents lower at 3.07-3.25. Soybean bids were mixed at 10.22-10.55. Wheat bids were mostly 5 to 10 cents higher at 2.83-2.99. Milo bids were mixed at 2.70-2.76.
