Portland Daily Grain Report
Bids as of 11:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during August by rail or
barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as
specified.  All other wheat and barley bids are for full August delivery.
Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

   September wheat futures were 6-1/4 to 7-3/4 cents per bushel higher
compared to Tuesdays closes.  Kansas City December wheat futures closed
6-1/2 cents per bushel higher and Minneapolis December spring wheat
closed 6-1/4 cents higher.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent
protein, for August Portland delivery, trended steady to five cents per
bushel lower compared to Tuesdays noon bids.  Some exporters are
not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August
delivery were nine to 11 cents per bushel higher compared to Tuesdays
noon bids in reaction to the higher Kansas City September and December
wheat futures.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for August
delivery trended seven to 12 cents per bushel higher than Tuesdays noon
bids in response to the higher Minneapolis September and December wheat
futures and a higher basis bid by some exporters.

   Bids for US 2 Barley for August delivery were not available as
exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn were 1-1/4 to 2-1/2 cents per cwt lower compared
to Tuesdays noon bids.  Lower Chicago September and December corn
futures weighed on bids.
