Portland Daily Grain Report
Bids as of 9:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during August by rail
or barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as
specified.  All other wheat and barley bids are for full August delivery.
Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

   September wheat futures in midday trading were 3-3/4 to 6-3/4 cents
per bushel higher compared to Tuesdays closes.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent
protein, for August delivery were not fully established in early trading
but bids were indicated as steady to five cents per bushel lower compared
to Tuesdays noon bids.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby
delivery.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August
delivery were not fully established as some exporters were not issuing
bids for August delivery.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for August
delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated
as four to nine cents per bushel higher than Tuesdays noon bids.  Higher
Minneapolis September spring wheat futures and a higher basis bid by some
exporters were supportive to bids.

   Bids for US 2 barley for August delivery were not well tested.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn were 2-1/2 to five cents per cwt lower
compared to Tuesdays noon bids in following the lower Chicago September
and December corn futures.
