Portland Daily Grain Report
Bids as of 11:30 a.m.;   Subject to change

   Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during August by rail or
barge, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars
per cwt.  Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as
specified.  All other wheat and barley bids are for full August delivery.
Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

   September wheat futures were a 1/4 of a cent to three cents per bushel
higher compared to Wednesdays closes.  Kansas City December wheat
futures closed 1-1/2 cents per bushel higher and Minneapolis December
spring wheat closed a 1/2 of a cent higher.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat, any protein and maximum 10.5 percent
protein, for August Portland delivery, held steady with Wednesdays noon
bids.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for August
delivery were two to six cents per bushel higher compared to Wednesdays
noon bids due to higher Kansas City September and December wheat futures.
Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring for August
delivery trended steady to two cents per bushel higher than Wednesdays
noon bids.  Higher Minneapolis September and December wheat futures were
supportive to bids.

   Bids for US 2 Barley for August delivery were not available as
exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

   Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn trended 2-1/2 to 3-3/4 cents per cwt lower
compared to Wednesdays noon bids in reaction to the lower September corn
futures.
