Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Wednesday afternoon.
Favorable growing conditions again outweighed the purchase of China
soybeans pushing new crop bids slightly lower. In the cash markets,
trading activity continues to be very light. The cash soybean basis
firmed up today after falling for several days. Basis at many Illinois
River terminals gained 15 to 30 cents, with some processors up 5 to 10
cents per bushel.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids 5 to 6 cents higher at 3.09-3.19. Soybean bids were mixed at
10.04-10.23.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
5 cents higher at 3.08-3.20. Soybean bids were mixed at 10.27-10.37.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 3 to 5 cents
higher at 3.07-3.30. Soybean bids were mixed at 9.78-10.03. Wheat bids
were 5 cents lower at 2.74-2.86. Milo bids were 5 to 7 cents higher at
2.66-2.70.

Commercial grain prices paid farmers by Interior Illinois Country Elevators
after 2.00 p.m. today are listed below in dollars per bushel:
